For years this term, and more importantly the concept it embodies has been the source of books of explanations and definitions. there have been those who have written on Ki as if it is a simple issue, giving it a mere passing mention, while others have lifted it to a diety of God status. We, as Christians, likewise have entered into this debate, but for other reasons, and motivation.

In our circle we are encouraging Godly Christian Martial Artists to offer training in a Church ministry context. To accomplish this an instructor would have the church "club", academy, team, etc., in the church building, with the pastor's support, and church's endorsement. Many cases, the pastor is the instructor too. The GMAU offers certification for such schools which are a direct ministry of a local church.

There are many things people see martial artists as, or think they are. However, martial artists are not all of what others think they are. There is several things here, there is what the martial artist thinks he is, there is what the puplic at large thinks he is, then there is what the legal world thinks a martial artists is. And these are often not the same. To limit our discussion to a specific area, let's talk about legal combat and what a Christian martial artist is and is not.
